it is as i first tought but thought the eye was to thick   its a strutt for the springs.

i thought the ring was the bottom of the strutt thats why i thought it was to thick.

to be fair tonyg was spot on, on the first page but seeing as he's logged off, no one else picked up on it and that previous guess the part games have been very short I thought I'd string it out a bit
