8v 1600cc Cambelt Change

Just in the process of changing the cambelt on my mk2 1600cc Golf Driver (Stripped 8 teeth off old belt) and I was wondering if anybody had a how to change cambelt diagram of any advise on how to make sure all pullies line up etc.

1st attempt job completed but timing is out, engine starts & ticks over, but will not rev (just dies when you try to increase throttle).

Any help (advice, diagrams or links to other sites) would be great.

The good old h/manual will have the timing marks in
