thats fine as long as they have receipts of the parts bought for the service otherwise I'd walk away

I've got an A4 lever arch file which contains every receipt for every part bought for my car  :nerd:

*Serviced by a local garage not home serviced.

I'll be getting my mate who's a MOT tester to give it a thorough going over before parting with any cash but hope it comes off :smug:

Coming back to the oil, how do I tell if this car has a long service interval or not? Do all 2002 02 Reg VOLKSWAGEN Golf 1.9 GT TDi 150 PD's have a 10K service interval? Should I use 507 (and is this 5W-30??) oil anyway or 505(and is this 5W-40??)?

If I do get this car it will be getting a full service regardless of when its last service was. I'll be ordering a Pipercross panel filter and letting the garage source the oil and other parts.

It drove fine and was great to drive but something was blatantly very wrong as soon as I opened the bonnet, there was black oil splattered absolutely everywhere. The sponge on the bottom of the plastic engine cover was just drenched in the stuff. He tried telling me that oil had been split toping it up but this was dirty oil not clean stuff out of the bottle and there was so much of it. A lot of it was dried on the pipes and looked like it had been there for some time. I think something has gone wrong and they've patched it up but haven't done a very good job of cleaning it up.

The area was packed with boy racers and I couldn't get over the number of Golfs. I hope never to return to Bradistan.
