Door Lock module

I need to change my Front N/S door sensor because it currently thinks my door's continually open and so my interior lights and puddle light stay on.

Does anyone happen to know if VW use the same door lock module for the whole platform, ie, all Mk4s, maybe even A3s, Leons, B3 Passats, etc? Or are they specific to particular models and chassis, ie 3-door or 5-door, late or early model? Mine's a 2000 GT TDI 115PD. Does anyone know the part number I need?

Found this 3rd Party version. It seems to suggest the locks the same as other VAG cars:

Still not clear about the 3door/5door issue though. Anyone tried one of these and can vouch for the quality?
