Thanks guys. Steve, I ment the fan in the headunit itself, i think they may have a cooling fan in them but not sure.
Really? But sounds like its inside RNS unit? I know this much it will drive me mad ,not gonna put up with that going off all the time??

The fan is probably temp controlled and will slow down or stop as the unit cools. If thats what it is making the noise. (you can see the fan in the photos)

Mine does it as well for a while after stopping...think it only does it for a few minutes. Likely cooling down. It's been stopped if I go back to the car a bit later.

The car is amazing absoulty brilliant!! Except for one thing the bloody light's are very poor??
[/quote]

I put Philips extreme power in mine and they made veryvlittle difference other than looking marginally whiter than the stock philips long life bulbs. Some owners have raised their headlight beam a touch to help, not touched mine yet.

Fitting HID bulbs in the stock headlight lens results in masses of flare, I've seen 2 mk6 with themfitted and they look awful and blind oncoming traffic even on smooth roads which just proves how bad the reflector design is. There is now a non glare version from hids4u which may be better in this respect. Whilst a mot inspector probably won't care about hid bulbs in a stock headlight the dept for transport has ruled them illegal.

Let us know what changes and improvements you make, enjoy the car

Steve:
I am so glad you are loving your car even though it does not have bright enough lights
I have already told you where to go and get the HID conversion done professionally. It will cost you approximately £145 per set of beams. These people are very professional also deal with FI teams and manufacturers. Speak to David.
Don't waste your time with the Philips x-treme or home installed HID conversion kits. These are all pretty rubbish.
Enjoy some brighter night driving soon.
