The truth is I came across this forum while looking for a GTI for my wife.........

I have always had a thing about Golf GTI`s, when I was younger had had a few.........My first GTI was a Y reg 1.8 MK1 in Lhasa Green when I was 17 {insurance was £360}.....I then got an A reg MK1 campaign in silver.........I stupidly traded that one in for a 8v MK2......a few years later I got a MK2 16v.
A year after that my daughter was born and I got myself a mk3 Passat estate so I could fit both the pram and shopping in the boot.........I sort of stuck with VW`s with the odd land rover here and there, now kids are grown up and the wife wants something smaller than a Passat......the choice is obvious.
