Is there anyone that is attending this that can do a cluster swap?

My friend is coming up with me in a 2007 Caddy Van, he has bought a set of 2004 Touran clocks (i think thats what he said)  He did a lot of research and found out that this is the correct set to go in and that lots of people have done it before.  He just needs someone to do all the magic to put them in and make them work lol

Can anybody help?

Thanks in advance

I have the kit to do it, but have never attempted it on something that new... and i can't see me having time to do it either. Perhaps a PM to old_n07 to see if he might be persuaded to pop over and do it for some beer tokens.

it can all go swimmingly.. then you get to the part where you recode keys to the new dash and you find yourself with an abandoned vehicle

I'd want to take my time with my first one, i've only done mk4s with vagtacho so far and haven't had much chance to play with k+can commander.

Ok then mate no worries thanks anyways!  Will pm old no7 now.

If things did go wrong like you just said could you just put the original clocks back in and all would be spiffy?

Not sure.. but i can't see why not. I think neil prefers to do the flashing on the bench and dump the code directly to the cluster rather than trying to recode everything with vagcom. I'm not comfortable with doing it that way yet.
