So would I mate, it's the house not tyre fitting prices that are stopping us!

Worth looking for an alternative at that price - they WERE the track day bargain until this year.

Trawl through Northloop - there's a lot of alternative recommendations on there.

Eye watering isn't it. I've had a look at Yoko's and stuff on EAR motorsport but they're all £120+ each with the Toyos still being the cheapest.

I'll check out northloop and see what's going down.

Cheers for the adive on Northloop DH. Found a discount code that gets them down to a shade over £180 delivered for a pair. Still bloomin pricey though. Going to have a good internet search tonight and see what other prices I can rustle up but I suspect this will be the best.

I looked for ages  for a good deal on 195/50/15 R888's as all the prices had shot up, i paid £247 incl delivery from Tyretraders in February (x4 R888's) i can't believe i got them so cheap they were £59 each inc vat !!! . My track car isn't even finished yet so have no need for the R888's yet but thought  i had to get them at that price !

I looked on there and they only list the SG compound ones which are just too soft for regular trackday use.

It seems there is a shortage of the medium compound ones at the moment. Also Toyo have reduced the amount of dealers selling them to inflate the prices.

Humm I'm proper kicking myself for not buying a pair before christmas but as I knew I wouldn't be hitting the track till the spring at the earliest I thought I'd wait till I had the spare cash set aside.

Do you need them to be road legal?

If not have a look at the Indysport TR pattern tyres at Ears Motorsport. They are about £65 each. I've got a set and they are awesome in the dry, reportedly good in the damp / wet but I've not tried them in the damp or wet. They may be road legal but I'm not 100% sure, the Maxsport TR tyres are road legal. As far as I know they are German remoulds and the tarmac rally guys give them a good write up.

I got mine off ebay brand new for under £100 so it was worth me trying them.
