Who's worth trying?
« on: 18 November 2009, 13:20 »
Just had my renewal quote from HIC and it doesn't seem that great.

No point in trying Flux for obvious reasons, Bell have just told me they don't cover cars with a remap and Performance Direct said they're not great with modded cars!

So, who else is worth checking for a good quote?

Thanks

Beg to differ mate, Adrian Flux is who I'm insured with and they beat HIC's quote by miles. Paying £650 for the year on my modified MK3 1.8 and HIC wanted over £1K.

If Adrian Flux know that your best quote (ie the one they try to beat) is from HIC then they will not quote you. When i told them my best quote was from Highway (through HIC, but i didn't mention that) and was asked to email them proof, the girl called back and said they couldn't continue with the quote "as i had failed to mention that the price they were beating was from HIC", their sister company. Her words were "i can get in big trouble if they find out i've beaten an HIC quote", which is pretty rediculous tbh......

Hmm, well I just told them my best quote was £750 from Admiral (which it was) and wanted to know what they could do. I never mentioned HIC so whatever they did it was cool with me :)
