as said the only real issue with G60 is the rebuilds on the chargers.
the 30k interval gets shorter the further you take it, if its a seriously ported charger the interval shortens a fair bit, a friend of a friend has had his charger ported about as far as it can be, uprated everything etc, think he has to get his done every 15-20k.
16v is a piece of cake, i did mine with basically no experience ever doing a vw engine swap and the majority of stuff was very easy indeed. wiring i gave to someone else to do, everything else i did, an like i said, im a mechanical monkey! :lol:
