VR6 on start up
« on: 01 October 2004, 19:05 »
Not a massive problem, but my '97 VR6 has recently started to idle a little high (1100-1200rpm) when I start up on a cold engine.? Never used to do this.? Feels like the car is pulling away from me as leave my driveway...

Only seems to last for about a minute and then sits down nicely at 900 rpm.

I know there are plenty of threads about erratic idling with the Mk III, but I can't find one for this specific quirk....

Anyone else experienced this?

It's pretty much the same engine I have in my corrado. I have never experienced it myself, but have a quick look on the corrado forums too. Some there may have experienced this.
I don't own this anymore - I just can't be arsed to change the picture

Mine Idles nice and smooth at about 500rpm, not even a murmur from the engine.  Sometimes i need to look at the rev counter to see its running.  lol.  I'll keep an eye on mine for the erratic idle problem though.  Thanks!!
