Yup... I'll be going over it with a fine toothed comb before I take it home.
Having said that, if you Google Map 'Emden', change to Sat View and then zoom in, you'll see that there are about 20,000 cars sitting about in car parks - so I doubt there is much chance of any damage other than dirt.  All cars will be coated in a special wax to save them getting wrecked by dirt / bird poop anyway

Chuffed to bits  :smiley:, arranged through contract hire broker who placed a large order of GTIs that I took advantage of. Completely standard which might have sped up delivery

Only downside is that it is being driven 180 miles from dealer to be delivered to my house, just hope it doesn't get too spanked on the way  :undecided:

Just spoke to VW Customer Services regarding my order. As dealer hasn't bothered to return messages or emails!

Car is in production as i thought. But my dealer last month told me to expect the car in May. But VW CS told me that the car wouldn't be at the dealership until after 20 weeks. So end of Aug.

This is what the dealer originally told me when i ordered the car in Feb, but for some reason changed his mind when he got confirmation of the BW.

How long after it going to build should it arrive at the dealership?

7-14 days  -  should be max 7 but there can be serious delays at the port. Then it can take another week to get to the dealership.

Squirrel - they must mean after /BW/ 20 meaning end of May .... if it's in production.

Yes maybe you're right. I did say to her "do you mean end of Aug?"

I'll call them tomorrow to confirm.

I'm a bit behind the 8-ball on this forum however to add my 2 penny worth, ordered 30th Sept 09, dely quoted End Jan 2010, dely confirmed week 9, production commenced 1st week Feb and finally delivered 9th April 2010!

Oh and did I mention nicked 11th April! So I guess that's another 6 months I'll have to wait.

This has got to be the longest delivery time on the forum so far??

man that is just so unfortunate. i don't know how i would cope. i hope you can get something sorted out.

Just to update my last post. VW CS got it wrong, they meant week 20 the car would be here, not 20 weeks from yesterday.

Confirmed car is built and awaiting to be shipped.

Shame i had to find all that out myself, rather than the dealer keeping me updated.
