Picking my car up on Sunday..NOT !
The dealer didn't tax it in time and so i'm now having to wait until monday/Tuesday next week.
I'm still going to check the car over and the dealer is giving me another car to drive until mine is ready. I will take some Pics at the dealers and then hopefully pickup early next week.

Picked up my car today well worth the wait!

Slight downer in that one of my Monzas was marked but dealer agreed to replace with no argument so no problem!

Got some free GTI mats which was a bonus!

Pics etc to follow tom after I've stopped smiling!

Congrats Ben!

Did you get the mats free because of the damage to the wheel, or did they just throw them in?

Thanks

They threw them in (before I'd even spotted the wheel)!

IMO they look better than the 'standard' mats & really complement the interior.

Will try & post some pics tom!

Wahooooo!!!!
Dealer called Sat afternoon and advised that the car will be ready for collection either late next week but can't tell me when until the car comes in.
On Monday will see if I can take a day off to pick up the car, however I've got a quick question regarding tax and insurance.....
Like the other new cars I've had in the past they need insurance docs for the dealer to tax the car so therefore need the insurance doc in advance.
Why do they need to do that - can't they use their own insurance to tax the car?

Great news!

I'm not sure but whatever happens ensure it gets taxed before 1 April otherwise you'll be paying £250 rather than £175!

I took the complementary 7 day VW insurance so they could get it taxed etc... Did they offer it to you?

When they tax it they will have to put it in there name.

Free 7day insurance is the hassle free way i had to do mine. They send your free insurance certificate to your dealer so you don't have to.
Ask your dealer for there Retailer number its a 3 digit number.
