Auto Wipers info plz...

Doesn't say anthing in the manual about turning the system off.

Im pretty sure its not going to be far off how a MK5 ones work. Its set to manual by moving up more than one notch which is the auto position.

The wipers are a pain in the arse on the MK4, You can stop the rain sensitive wipers by replacing the relay with one off a normal golf. This will allow you to use the speed toggle. You can't use it with the rain sensor! can't think off the relay part number off the top of my head, but i'll try and find it. Do a search on here, it's been done plenty of times! Hope that helps!

When my wipers go tits up all I do is to turn them off (Down one setting and back up to auto)

Theres no mention of overrideing the rain sensor is there.

Having it up 1 notch is putting it in auto, have it up 2 notches to set it to manual. Does that work?

No that don;t work as the next notch is to put it on constant medium speed so the wipers are always on and the speed controller has no influence on the gap between wipes as there aren't any gaps if you get what I mean.

This is some crazy sh!te on this car, why can't they just be turned off in similar fashion to how I switched them on
