HI IVE RECENTLY GOT MY PRIDE AND JOY 99 T GOLF GTI TURBO AND AM LOVING IT!!!
BUT? :(SINCE LAST WEEK IVE BEEN HAVING FLAT SPOT PROBLEMS WITH IT ILL BE DRIVING ALONG AND IT JUST LOSES ALL POWER AS IF ITS RUNNING OUT OF PETROL THEN COMES BACK OK SOMETIMES FEELS LIKE ITS RUNNING ON 3 CYLINDERS (MISSING) WHEN IT DOES THIS IT ONLY LASTS1-5 SECONDS THEN GOES OK ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT ALSO MY DUMP VALVE (STANDARD)IS STARTING TO MAKE A NOISE NOT LOUD ON GEAR CHANGE AND WAS WONDERING THE BEST ONE TO REPLACE IT WITH AND WHERE TO GET ONE FROM? CHEERS!!

I dont know about the dump valve, but the flat spots sound like a failing MAF sensor. You can pick them up for between ?100-?200.

Even without running a diagnostic i'd be 95% sure its your MAF up the stuff, exactly the same as when mine went. Get an exchange unit from the dealership for ?75 ish or try GSF car parts, frosticles may be able to tell you the price for a 1.8T AGU MAF sensor.
Replace the DV with a forge recirc, either direct from forge motorsport or one of the tuners listed in the links on the

main page.

Thanks for the advice guys i will replace the maf sensor tryed to get one today from gsf there saying theres not one listed for engine code AGU ill try the main dealer are they hard to fit??
