Solution to CD Error?
« on: 28 October 2009, 15:23 »
Hi All,

Ive searched through the forums and come across a couple of posts but none that really have a fully blown solution other than replacing the cd changer and unit. I have recently brought a Golf 1.8T 1999 mk4 and the cd dash says check magazine then beeps and says "CD Error" its a 6 disc multichanger located in the boot and im pulling my hair out, has anyone come up against this problem before and fixed it? Or do i need to bite the bullet and visit ebay for a new changer? I have tried legit cd's copied cd's and I have put them in one way up then flipped them and tried the other way up!

Any help is greatly appreciated as im going insane with no music!

Radio and casette works a treat but theres only so much Chris Moyles I can take every morning!

Thanks in advance,

Chris

A general search does reveal the changer is jiggered. A decent ICE shop might be able to fix it and advise, other than that it looks like you may need a replacement.
