Question about A/C and Check lights..
« on: 28 October 2009, 08:55 »
yeah i just bought my 8v -96 golf gti, and ofc i allready have problems :P..

(just to make sure i didnt make only for this question an account here, been checking this forum for a 2 weeks etc but couldnt find clear answer to these, also im prop gonna update some pics from my golf here)

Well at the day i bought my golf, i got into home, it started flashing check engine light.. So i made a deal with this vendor i bought it that they will fix it, tought i checked with friends vag.com that it was airmass & some other sensor that had trash on them or something..
Well i still tought that i will drive the car back to vendor to fix it due that is their responsibility.. (atleast here in finland)
But before i drove my car at vendor i had to place my new Hertz's & amp on my car.. After that, or im not sure was that after that.. but i think my AC doesnt work.. could it be that  i broke something with installing my "sound system" or is it because we have like +2 here in finland that it wont even start.. i dont know much about A/C's because never had that kinda a luxury on my cars before.. (:D)

also i have prop my front wheel bearings starting to die or something because its screaming when im turning right @ 50 mph.. (left front bearing?)

still sorry about my english AND if there was an topic about all of these questions(i know that there is atleast questions about bearing's but thats all what i found with search)

So what if i get a flu from swine's, i allready have aids from monkeys!

Hello to Finland!

You sure you need air-con up there? It does make the car COLDER!

I guess it depends how you connected up the new sound system, did you change the headunit? Did you use the existing connections?

yeah :D, i dont need the AC now but it can be useful at summer.. well maybe i just leave the problem in there and fix it at summer..

also i think rca & power is atm touching or something because i hear from my headunit a whistle kinda of a sound which goes louder when i do revving.. abit like a kompressor or supercharger.. also might be because i havent take off integrated amp from headunit.. yep i have that kind of action in that headunit aswell.. have to keep testing and lets see what they find out at maintaince.. atleast i know i have to do something on my exhausts because it has a leak somewhere and the bearings.. but heres some info about my soundsystem:

mid&tweeters http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/Doc/pdf_esk165.pdf  <-- both, front & rear (that makes 2x that product)
amp: http://www.autostudio.fi/product_info.php?cPath=21_25_143&products_id=7602  (autostudio product, sounds abit odd maybe to you but its one of the finest autohifi shop here in finland, also their amp's are awesome.. not sure are they just sold by their names or are they really making them)

The noise when revving will be an earth problem, so check you have earted the amp properly.

The air-con may just need a gas fill up.

okay so i got my golf back today.. it was the lambda sensor that was broken.. yeah..

but i still hear the whistling sound that goes louder when i revv, but it doesnt come when i take my headunit away.. i tought it could be headunit grd cable but it wasnt.. neither it was my amp, or im not sure about that but i think it wouldnt even start the amp if the grd cable wasnt prop installed.. atleast what i know about grd cables..

so i got new check light.. went to check it.. and it was highvoltagesensor or something like that.. i think thats inside of batterycharger.. wonder how much does those highvoltagesensor's cost, or where you can buy it.. :/

everything else is smooth tought..

The whistling sound could be electrical interferance from your alternator, make sure there's a suppresor (condensor) on it.
