Leather steering wheel
« on: 21 October 2009, 17:44 »
Hi everyone I'm looking to get my steering wheel recovered in leather. Anyone know of any trimmers who offer this service?
Thanks in advance all.

Would it not be easier/cheaper to purchase a VR6 steering wheel (leather from factory)

mine is standard leather, and i must say there is not much difference between that and a standard at all, maybe when it was new and not worn it stood out abit more?

The steering wheel in my Highline is immaculate and is a lot different to my standard 1.6 one so maybe you're right!

Thanks to all, what I forgot to mention is that mine is the non air bag type. So I really am looking to freshen the old girl up. The plan is to keep it as original as possible and while the car never had leather originally it would just make the original wheel more usuable as the existing one is now very smooth.
Thanks again folks.

Pick up a early VR6 wheel, going to be easier than recovering yours.

I would respectfully add to whats been said.
I got my VR6 wheel for £2.20 on eBay, thats cheap admittedly, but WAY cheaper than retrimming it. I'd keep a look out rather than blow a load of money on a retrim you may not be happy with.
