...that i just realised how awesome MK2's are?
Getting a house means i need to sell my car (well not really but works out the best)
So im looking into a car that i will like, will not depreciate, fun and reliable (is the mk2 reliable?) and couldnt believe i overlooked the mk2 GTI! My uncle owned one years ago and always thought they were cool but just never had the intention of getting as i had a Type R from 20 so just progressed from there and, no offence, the mk2 would be a step back from there.
I looked at MK4's and the reliability issue is to big a put off. I think i could own a mk2 and lose nothing (disregarding insurance, tax etc) over a year and be able to save for the next car i want in the process!
Looking online there are some awesome examples with engine changes and the like and then just mint standard ones!
Not 100% on the budget but around £5k to purchase is likely
so what do you think? What are my options with that budget...should i go higher?
Cheers
