Finally remembered to check the MFA - over 700 miles it says 21.4MPG.

It lies.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Just happened to glance at the front tyres

Thing about winter is it's dark so much you just don't see the condition of this sort of thing very often!

I'd forgotten how aggressively a FWD car can wear fronts.

The tyres on the back are just fine, of course - they're just following the fronts about.

It does love to eat tyres that car. May I suggest some long lasting Ling Longs Sir? They'll never wear out although you may find it becomes a little hedge hunting happy.

Given that I *like* the trait of lift-off oversteer and use it regularly I think that would be a BAD idea.

Ling Longs for just the rears then!

I've been having fun in the Polo in the wet. Got T1R's on the front and some oriental abortions on the rear. Lift off oversteer in a derv is full on hero stuff as if it's off boost you're in all sorts of trouble, ha ha.

The last set have done me well. They're down to wet-wear on track now though.

Annoyingly I was reminded at the point of driving in to the tyre shop that when I was doing (well, not doing as it turned out) the rack, one of the track rod ends is seized.

Off to poke about in the spares bank to see if I have an 191419812 in stock.

Gas on it tomorrow.  It's good to be among focused weapons of mass destruction once more .
