I was thinking of some brand new VW hub caps but f*ck me are they expensive!

Heh, I have a complete set here - the type that fit over the hub and have four covers that go over the wheel bolts.

Got a mic?
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

If you're liking the steel look, go for G60 steels or some cheaper 14inch Mk2 GTI steels.

So a week and a half into ownership and things are good. It's returning 55mpg+, it's fun to drive, the cabin is a nice place to be and it makes my commute a pleasant experience (well chuffed with the standard audio set up).

However the steels are bugging me big time. The paint wokr is a bit shabby on the car and the knackered steels just make it look properly un loved. So I need some rims to give the car a lift but they need to cheap and preferably 14" so I can use my existing tyres if required and also it handles really well in this wheel/tyre size combo. Some OE alloys that would have come on one of these would be good but they seem hard to find. I did stumble across some proper VW spiderlights which are awesome looking wheels but at £225 waaaaay out of my budget. So I got thinking about 14" stuff fitted to old VAG that may look good. I dismissed any of the cheaper BBS stuff as they look very out of place on a modern car unless they're blinging splits. This left me with the VW standard fitment stuff like MKII Valver wheels, P-Slots, teardrops etc. And then I thought of Rocco Scala wheels. Did a quick pshop.

Thoughts?

Nick

I think that the 8 spoke trims that came on these would look better

Unless some turn up with good tyres for less than £100 that ain't gonna happen. This is after all just a daily hack so spending is being kept to a minimum.
