Sell, who said anything about money changing hands!  Now he is grown up he has no need of frivolus toys such as Mk2 Golfs with no back seats.  He needs storage space for his pocket protectors and large sensible glasses case! :grin:  It is old duffers like me who have gone through this stage and are regressing back to childhood who need things like track toys.  

So Nick please admit you are now grown up and give me all the nice bits off your golf...............

Only 3 cylinders though... hmmm ... where'd DH put the other ? I bet he left it on the IOW, praps dropped it over the side of the ferry coming from IOW   :laugh:

Just dropped it off for it's cambelt and water pump. Forgot the wife was away tonight so had to walk the 2.3 miles home from the garage in the rain.

Technically I don't think it does, as IIRC the GTD was rated at 80bhp or something fairly outrageous?

I think the 1.4TDI is only 70bhp..... but I think with the torque it'll probably out-drag the GTD..... of course it depends on how Jay's motor has aged....

yup the GTD has a whooping 80hp  :grin: Although I'd love to confirm what she's putting out now after being 'run in'.

... the g'box going into 2nd likes to be treated like a baby mouse, so he'd probably win as it  takes about 15 seconds to change gear  :laugh:  for over 200k miles I think she's holding up fairly well  :cool:

Good News: Cambelt and Water Pump have been replaced.

Bad News: Alternator pulley is fecked and requires replacement. £55 for the pulley and £80 labour (as it requires special tools). Arse!
