Lower profile tyres are fitted to accomadate for this, it is registering the same as when 18s where on according to road angel 70mph on speedo 66mph on roadangel same as before
oh that makes sense then - it perhaps would also explain why the wheels didn't look like they were bulging out like on an over-modded chav's Saxo

have u seen much difference in the tyres you got on? is it a world of difference to your old tyres or much of the same?

Had Dunlop Sportmax on Monzas, Now fitted F1 Assemetrics not scrubbed them up yet but feels well planted only done about 50mile on these, takes a couple of hundred mile to get nice and grippy ?

Looking great Neil!

Always liked them wheels on the golf. How does the ride compare to the 18"?? On the R32 the 19" felt much the same just a little more planted, but with the slightly harsher ride of the GTi is the change noticable?

Feels pretty much the same, a little more planted maybe, be able to tell when tyres scrubbed up a bit more, wouldnt say the ride is any harsher before

Very nice i was not sure of them by the photos on VWRs website but i think they really work with the red. Don't let Robin see me saying this but i think your wheel and car colour combo work better than his.

Looks good, even though I prefer silver wheels. I can't see from the pics but did you go with 225 or 235 section tyres?

Very nice Neil.  I'm not normally a fan of darkened wheels, but these really suit.  Goes well with the grey rubbing side strip and rear diffuser.

+1 - don't usually like dark wheels, either, but against your red paintwork, they look superb. Good choice, much nicer than Monza shadows (though that's not too difficult...)

Vwr recommended 235/35/19s so i went with them, feels nice and planted no rubbing issues
