No what I meant was, you could only pick a Golf GTI and couldn't specify whether it was a manual or DSG (auto) version....just struck me as odd as I would have thought the warranty for an auto would have cost more.

Ahhhhhh, I see. :afro:  Some peeps just seem to get the hump if you try and tell them their beloved DSG is classed as an 'automatic gearbox'!  :laugh: :laugh:

But yes, I would agree with the DSG costing more for any warranty claim.  But maybe they know something we dont.  Maybe the DSG is proving far more reliable than the manual - afterall, manual boxes still need clutch changes (which seem fairly bullet-proof on the DSG), and still have issues with the Dual Mass Flywheels going noisy (I'm not sure if DSGs use a DMF - anyone?).

Or maybe the warranty company just use the DVLA database to tell them the spec of the car?  :undecided:
