Guys, just picked up this thread - been on hol for two weeks so haven't got back to you on progress of rattles and issue with black speckles on white paint.

so they've had the car the full 2 weeks, and i picked up on Sun which meant there wasn't anyone to talk me through what they'd done.  Having said that, the rear of the car does look better. however, there still remains the odd speck. And to be fair its not just on the paint work, as when you rub a leather over the rear screen the specks shine up.... hmmm.

My honest opinion tho' - YES the paint should be perfect, BUT you can only see them when the car is sparkling clean and you're really close and looking for them. The wife couldn't spot them even when i pointed them out- but that doesn't really say much .....  If it was a toss up between having a car rattle free or with these little specks on - then i'd defo go for the rattle free!!!

So who has tried an aggressive claybar and something like autosmart tardis? Anyone?

Tbh it sounds like overspray/surface contaminants.

The latest update....

Slaes manager call sme today after two days of not hearing anything.....

He exoplains that they've had their paint guy out to look and he has said that the black specs are what they term as "FALLOUT" - not too sure what that means but I'm assuming some kind of airboprn contamination.....

He then went onto say that he had contacted Autoglym to find out what they needed to use to remove the lifeshine (which is a little odd, as they were already supposed to have removed that once and re-applied it the firast time I took it in (see my first post) - "THE GUY SPENT ALL DAY REMOVING THE AUTOGLYM STUFF AND RE-APPLYING IT - THE CAR LOOKS GREAT NOW!!!!" - However, I said nothing - I'm saving that little gem until later)!
Apparently Autoglym told them to use Fairy liquid...????  Anyway, He said they had done this and they were then applying some kind of cleansing preperation which had to be left on for a while - could this be SNOWFOAM??
And apparentlyu this should remove the black specks which supposedly are above the laquer.

As for the yellow stains on the Bumper - they are hoping this stuff will remove that too.

It would seem that I'm being fed a certain amount of bull sh1t here... which probably will come of no surprise to any of you....! However - I am willing to give them the cahnce to rectify the problem.
But if this car comes back with so much as a tiny swirl mark or scorch from bad mopping techniques there's gonna be a problem!!!

I've spoken to several professional detailing companies over the phone the last two days - and from what I've been told the finish should be totally blemish free with a galss like reflexion - anything less should be rejected!??

I hope to god that after all the work they have done on the paint that it doesnt end up looking even worse.

I think i read on a couple of the american forums months ago of similar instances of this fall out shown on the white paint. I remember sonthing to do with rail tracks on there thread :undecided:
