Transporting Alloy Wheels in a Golf

Is this a bad idea?  :huh:

Basically, I've got my four 18" alloy wheels sitting in my house and I want to take them to my mate's house to fit them as I would not have a clue as sad as that sounds. But is it safe to put the weight of all 4 wheels and tyres in the back of my car? They could be there for up to one hour. Will it bum up my suspension? They are quite heavy :undecided:

TBH mate you will have no problem! I've had 10No. 25kg bags in the boot of mine!

and use a cover to prevent crap all over your interior  :rolleyes: also cheap way of lowering  :grin: :grin:

i carried 18" r32  alloys from london.. mind you it looked wikid low  :grin:..

And strap them down, the last thing you want is an alloy whell hitting you in the back at 50mph in the case of an accident.

Agreed! I got 4 alloys, in boxes (18s) in the boot with parcel shelf down :cool:

loads a room in the back of them!!

i got 14 packs of floor tiles, proper heavy  ceramic ones in the back of mine, it's already lowered 50mm and it looked wicked with all that weight in :grin:

Six bags of sand and 3 cement made my car look better too. I take four of us too work and the weight of 4 alloys is no where near that much.
