Golf Gti is getting LED back lights

I think when/if these LED's appear for the GTI, we have a good shout for a big group buy. I'd definately want them.

Not fussed on the current GTI rear light's look old, the Mk5 ones were better.
However these LED rear lights could be just the ticket!
Fingers crossed they eventually do come to the UK, I keep going back to the vw online config tool to check, turning into a light geek!

I emailed VW customer service in Germany and asked them the question, are they planning to introduce the LED rear lights as standard or an option in the near future ?
They passed my question on to their importer and eventully replied with : 

I have spoken to our Sales Team who has confirmed that there are no plans in the near future to introduce rear LED lights as
standard or optional extras for UK vehicles. Your local Volkswagen retailer will be more than happy to keep you updated on the
lights should they be introduced in the future. Alternatively you can visit our website on www.volkswagen.co.uk.

I apologise that I am unable to be of any further assistance on this occasion. Thank you for contacting Volkswagen.

I really wanted to spec these when i order my car in January so it's a shame that they are not planning to introuduce them !

 I hope you right. I can't think of a good reason not to introduce them, unless they think that it some how takes away some prestige from the Golf R. Lots of people would  buy them if available.

This is an option in Germany and Italy hence the euro price tag. Not an option here in £ ! I'm emigrating to Italy.
