What we talking mate, components, sub and amp? You could do spare wheel well box for sub with grill over top to stop damage, 4ch amp vertical next to wheel arch, 2chs for front speakers, 2chs bridged for sub.
Would be a tidy little setup that!

Or a sub in the rear nearside wheelarch! Thats much better than the spare wheel hole!

Even with no sub in the boot of my old Mk3, it was still a bit tight for a buggy (plus everything else you need when going places with a kid). So we upgraded to a bigger car.
Good luck though.
I would say best bet is a small sub built in around the wheel arch as suggested. Cos if you put it in the spare wheel well, it would be covered and could get damaged whenever you put the buggy or anything in the boot.

Very true the buggy just goes in there haha may have to sort sumthing out for my dubstep addiction I don't mind carting around her bags and toys on the back seats haha

If done right then a wheelarch sub wont intrude into "buggy space" !

Under the seats a new one for me
Think I'm gonna get the componets at the weekend and stick with the head unit I've got at the min its a sony cd nothing special but all good
