today i was given a loan car(new 1.4 tsi) by my dealers because vw will not give loan cars till after waiting 20 weeks. my order was on aug 17th and was given several diferent dates but now told wk build 01. so although i'm loosing patience,i see this as a part way gesture to ease the pain. it seems that most of us are in the same boat. however today i see that you can now spec up the golf R and orders are being taken for feb deliveries.LOL. and as you probably all know the sciroco R is already being produced. so it could be that the british roads will be floodall 3 models by feb 2010ed with . there's food for thought !!

Still think its worth asking if Ford and Vauxhall are doing it, worse they can say and probably will say is no.

Decided to cancel, kinda sad feeling, but I'm a)fed up with waiting & b)insulted by vw's attitude re vat rise! So I shall express my anger to 'em .....then trot down my local dealer & decide between a R32 & an ED30

Hopefully the few grand saved will make up for the lack of that *new car* feeling.

Cancelled Order
Mk5 R32 instead.....and change too:)

Just looked at my last email from the dealer, which was about 2 weeks ago.
Current status is build week 48, status - frozen for production.
I've been told I should have the car by mid December. Just mailed them again to check for updates.

Just got a reply back saying it is confirmed for wk48, I asked about build weeks moving into next year and she said she was also concerned but is now happy that we have a confirmed build week.

Nah, nothing new to tell. I think my car arrived at the port of Södertälje yesterday (if it made it onto the ship this past Sunday), so should be able to get it next week. I will post here when I know the actual delivery date which should not be far off now

Last update I had from my dealer last Friday was that the car was in production, so hoping the update this week will tell me it's awaiting shipping. Hoping to get it by the end of the month

Nope! no updates from me, and i have not contacted my dealer or VW customer services nore have they contacted me. I will definately be after an update either next week (47) or the week after that which is my BW 48!

If its delayed any longer, i am going to screw at the dealer and try get some sort of compensation! I am no longer a patient person!! lol

Thank god i have Call of Duty on the PS3 to keep me happy in the mean time!

PS3 user ID is Maksta for anyone out there
