If you only do regular road use and your car is stock, stick with the OEM ones. If you do trackdays or your car is even mildly modded then you can put on DS2500 pads or Pagid fast road pads. EBC do aftermarket pads too

Are they front or rear?

If just front, the tarox strada pads will be a good upgrade on the oem ones as it's got more bite.

Is it going to stay Stock?

if so then just go to the dealers and order them from their parts dept, or you could use Euro car parts online. Pads shouldn't set you back much more than £100 for both the front and rears.

As Bacillus says you could go for TAR-OX Strada pads. They wear well and have a low dust release, but are around £80-£90 for the fronts.

VW dealer.
There are so many counterfeit pads around it's not worth the saving going anywhere else.

Has anyone tried the VW Racing Uprated Brake Pads?

http://www.volkswagenracing.co.uk/Golf%205%20Pages/Golf%20Brake%20Pads.html

Considering upgrading to these to keep things slightly more OEM than going for a completely stand-alone brand. Any one have any experience of these?

Thanks

Andy
