Blower fan making noise
« on: 10 September 2009, 15:31 »
The blower fan in my golf mk4 gti is making a clicking noise. I read another post and someone suggested something could be stuck in it, leafs/foam padding. If i redirect the air flow towards the ground (climatic control, press a button) the noise stops  Any suggestions whats going on there?

In the haynes manual to remove the blower fan, first the center console is removed, then the steering wheel, then the front fascia, then the last screw holding the glove box in can be removed. one garage quoted me €800-1000 to get this done - time consuming or something he said. Is it possible to gain access to the fan and remove any debris stuck in her without taking the whole thing apart

Possibly one of the flaps that directs the airflow has moved and touches the fan, will need investigated anyway, get another quote if you dont fancy doing it yourself.

Cheers for reply, makes sense that one of the flaps might be making the noise. Getting a look at the blower fan will be the tricky bit doh, any suggestions?
