VR6 Spark Plug removal
« on: 14 September 2004, 14:10 »
Is there a special tool required to remove VR6 spark plugs? My socket and extension method fouls on no.4, the socket is too wide to get down the hole. (I remember an old polo my dad had that required a simple VW tubular socket about 1ft long) Loads of people seem to have done it so there must be a make of socket that works best

I think you do need a special tool - I remember the old chap complaining that he couldn't get the plugs out of a Ford Galaxy (same engine) and think in the end he had to borrow a tool. Sorry I can't suggest an alternative..
