i get it a lot, but with all cars, they seem to get a red mist or somthing..lol.. but im a bit of a SUNDAY DRIVER ANYWAYS SO IT COULD BE ME... on another note.. i was well shocked the other day, was on my way home where i stoped to let a fellow gti passed and did my eyes deceive me? nno they didn't, driving the car was an old lady who must of been @ least in her late 60s with her frail husband in the passenger seat, just goes to show the mk5 gti is a car for anyone...

I find GT drivers never make eye contact with GTI drivers....in the same way I never make eye contact with drivers of R32s.

Loyal owner since 2005, done with remapping, I drive a Golf not a Veyron. (hypocrite)

I've noticed similar behaviour from drivers of Toyota Prius's <sp?> - I imagine because they think they are driving an environmentally friendly 'green' car, they somehow think it's OK for them to thrash the ar$e off them, and generally drive them like utter cnuts!

On the odd occasions when I used to get a Metro as a company car, I never used to thrash it . . . . .  :lipsrsealed:

. . . . acutally, I did - I used to beat the hell out of it like a ginger stepchild!

lol thats just funny!!

I think there is usually a fine line... i dont mind seeing a gti drive quickly (or any sporty car) for that matter. Its just that like the OP said its ususally a gt driver driving like a twit as opposed to giving it a little more. Im the first to admit I will give a little try with anything sporty just to see them give it some...

its usually more to admire than to try it on

Thought I'd add my tuppence to this as I came across a GT driver earlier tonight. Out in the sticks and I tore up gradually approached the rear of a GT. Until I got behind him he was doing 40-50mph. As soon as he spotted me he suddenly jumped up to 70-80 (kph ) and sat his car in the middle of the road . Next bend and a long straight he put his foot down and then I waved to him as I went past him
Why did he do this? Only he knows, but he should have known better in my neck of the woods

Sounds like he got hurdy'd

Hahaa,

I got "hurdy'd" today by a Lamborghini Gallardo!!!!

Didn't mind really as the **** mph he had to do to go past me meant that the sound was F888888g marvellous
