the only reason for me purchasing a mk3 golf was for the mrs. she seems happy enough with her golf cabby though. i would have prefered a mk1 shape, but she wanted a reasonably safe car, plus the mk3 shape is a bit cheaper for a nice one.
cant say i find anything built after the mk2 golf shape that appealing from a styling point of view and i cant say ive been that impressed with the build quality, the mk3 shape likes to rust doesnt it!
i had a 1800 mk3, probably 5 or 6 years ago to do up and sell on, it was covered in rust! the engine had done well though, sold it with 199k on the clock!
