2.slow remaps?
« on: 20 August 2009, 13:25 »
Has anyone remaped the 2.0 8v?
If so what is the bhp up to after stage one and two and round about how much did it cost?
and another thing, does it effect fuel economy?

No point, remaps get very little extra power out of NA cars unless they have had extensive head work, mad cams and stuff tha need the ECU to be remapped to actually run right. A standard car will probably get an extra 5 bhp max and perhaps better throttle response from a remap. A waste of cash.

Your looking at 6-8bhp 9-12nm extra power. The main difference is the improvement in throttle response and the torque will be available lower down the band.

For prices and more info check out the R-Tech website or give them a call.

I agree with Nick, waste of money imo.

ive got a 2.slow m8, its just not worth the money for what you get from the remap.use the money to make a few changes on the inside.{i.e. new ice or maybe smarter dash, door cards and the like} {sorry for the bad news}
