probably not with a 1.4, depends on your preference, engine mods are a no go for the 1.4.

i have just turned 20 and i have just got a mk3 gti for 700 quid a year on insurance, believe it or not i was paying 700 for my 1.4! so it pays to shop around and changing some of the variables!

Look up the insurance on a Mk4 TDI First. Just becuase it uses satans fuel, dont mean it will be cheap to insure. And there are different engined mk4 tdis, some are not that slow.

Holy fck! At 17 I was paying 664 quid on a Mk3 1.4 Ryder (Insurance group 7), Then I turned 18 and bought a 1.4 SE (Insurance group 8 ) and paid 700 quid!

I've just turned 19, and I'm paying 535 quid on a Mk3 1.6 CL, but I'm currently saving up so I can insure my 2.8 VR6 Highline for 1200!
