Vauxhall Nova 1.2 - all the might of 45 hp and 4 speed!!!!! Totally reliable though.
Vauxhall Corsa 1.5 TD - the most reliable car I've ever owned to be honest.
Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 SRi - this was good too, or at least I thought so back then.
VW Golf GTi Mk3 - a cracker too
Peugeot 205 1.1 - our first "second" car for the wife. French, therefore, crap.
VW Golf TDi 110 Mk 4 - worst car I've ever had - 18 different faults on it at one stage. Absolute bag of s***.
VW Golf TDi 130 Mk 4 - great car that nearly killed me when wipers failed on three different occasions at high speed on various motorways. S*** dealers couldn't fix it so I got rid in favour of the Saab below while I still could. Swore at that time I would never set foot in a VW dealer again.
Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 - wife's car. Slow but relaible.
Saab 93 2.2 TD - only had it a short while but it was 100% reliable.
Vauxhall Vectra 2.2 TD - had to sell the Saab and get a cheap Vectra to be able to move house and get a mortgage. It was cheap and cheerful but never let me down
Vauxhall Atra 1.8 Convertible - wife's car. Again, excellent
Saab 1.9 TD(150) - had some problems in its fourth year which I thought it shouldn't have at that age. Otherwise a good workhorse.
Saab 93 TD(150) Convertible - wife's current car. Has been faultless and she loves it.
VW Golf GTi Mk 6 - totally in love with this car. Bit of a mid-life crisis car to be honest. On the verge of divorce cos she thinks I love it more than her. Which, of course, I do!!!!!
So overall nothing particularly glamorous for me but if this Mk 6 gives good service over the next 3 or 4 years then I will stay in the bosom of VW.

Glad it's not just me!
MKV GTI | Reflex Silver | 5-dr | Anthracite 17" | Manual | Highline MFD | Cruise | Revision 'D' DV | Dirty Pipes |

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

Nissan Micra 1.0 "Wave" - passed down from my mum to me during uni.  Faultlessly reliable for 75k, campest thing I've ever been in.

Seat Leon 1.6S - couldn't afford a nice Golf at the time.  Cracking car, despite a few electrical gremlins and being under-geared for the motorway.  Our relationship ended upside down in a field after slithering off a leafy back road.  Embarrassing.  :embarassed:

Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec "Chic" - worked for Ford at the time, so a major discount.  Absolutely fabulous car, looked great as a 3dr in dark grey, perfect reliability for 90k, managed to sell it on just before bits started to fall off it.

Audi A3 2.0TDI SE - pool car whilst I waited for my company car (below).  No long-term relationship formed...

Audi A3 2.0TDI (140) S-line - black with leather and big wheels.  Not sure whether I should admit to liking it on this board.  But I do...despite the awful low-speed ride and the clunky PD motor.  Great for motorways, and for looking like a smug Audi-driving so-and-so...

Mk 6 Golf GTD - order being placed with my fleet manager this week, to replace the A3.  I'll miss the Audi interior and leather, but the new engine and looks will make up for that.  It even seems to go over potholes without hurting my back...
