AMD Essex should be able to have a look for you and their prices will be cheaper than your dealer 

is your car still in warranty though?? notice you mentioned its an 06.  If so get your dealer to sort it

'fraid so... they don't share that with independents unfortunately! I bet you're just out of warranty too

if you stamp your feet though they might help with the costs... i've heard of a few mk5 ecu's go now, very strange indeed.

You can try AMD but it may just be another case of paying for a fault code read and then being directed to the dealer

Hi Dan,Had the exact same problem last week and it turned out to be a faulty accelerator pedal.My mechanic knew straight away as it was the third one he  has replaced in a month.The unit cost 210 Euro from a main dealer in Dublin and 40 Euro labour.I have never had so many problems with a car!

i very much doubt you had the same fault code if it was a pedal fault?
