Torque Gain
« on: 30 July 2009, 16:01 »
Hey guys, after reading up on a few things, im looking to get a good torque gain out of my Mk3 16v,

Everyone shouts about BHP, but personally i think if you've got more torque than BHP it will be a faster car.

So far im car is standard as such,

Its got a K&N cone filter on it which i will be getting rid of soon and be replacing it with a Stock air box and panel filter,

Im looking for the best way to gain torque.

Ive also been looking into the 1.8T conversions.

Advice & suggestions please

when you modify an engine it increases (or loses in some cases) both torque and hp, you cant choose.

You need torque and hp to have an efficient and good engine, not just tons of torque but no hp.

Gain good torque you would be looking at some sort of forced induction (Supercharged or Turbocharged).

You could start by removing some restrictions from the exhaust system, get a bigger bore pipe and sports cat helps a little torque.
