VAG-COM
« on: 24 July 2009, 21:05 »
Hi All,

Tried hooking the Mk3 to the laptop after sourcing the correct conversion cable (2x2 -> OBDII 16-Pin). I can get the vag come software to comunicate with the device, but it wont pic up any codes saying it cant activate the ecu, or a similar error, cant remember the wording exactly.

Could anyone help with this. Not had much use with the vag com software specificaly, and the search on here returns hundreds of posts of which I cannot find any relevant lol ...

Also on a side note, I assume the wheels have to be off the ground and suspension taken off load to fit a P/S rack ... ? Can't just drive it up some ramps and fit whilst lifted with the suspension/wheels loaded?

Thanks.

Resolved:

USB Serial Bridge was set to COM7 and even though VAGCOM said successfull on COM4 through it's program it couldn't connect properly. Set the Bridge to COM3 and VAGCOM to use COM3 and all was fine.
