I've seen one for a grand on pistonheads, if only I had a spare grand knocking around!

Trust me, i keep an eye for uno turbos for sale everywhere everyday just for the day i can afford to buy one. I went to retro show at santa pod last weekend, there was an Uno Club there who my mate went to meet, 12 uno turbos in one place, was a sight to see.

Easily the fastest and most fun car for that kind of style, 80/90s cheap hot hatch. Although id still have to own my mk2 golf while i had an uno turbo.

Yeah, thats my problem.. I would not have JUST an uno turbo. I <3 my MK2 too much. But I've wanted on for ages. I seem to rember a couple of years ago when they were on sale on ebay quite regularly. However, these days its a real rarity to find one. Especially a minter.

Yes its very rare to find a minter, they all got some hidden rust and arent too reliable either, the engines are ok but apparently its the fueling and electrics thats the worst, in the year and abit my friends owned his, its had 3 engines! on the 3rd one now but the others must have had it previously because this new one runs better than the others.

But they are such a sick, surprising car, can easily make someones good day turn bad on there way home  I have also come to a decision that i HAVE to own one at some point. Only 18 though so insurance would batty rape me right now.

My girfriends first car was a MK2 UNO 998cc.

Don't even talk to me about problems!

Here's two examples.

1) We were driving along when I looked over and said "Wow, your temp is reading MAX" and as soon as I said that the engine poured with smoke whilst we were at a busy junction. We drove across the road to Mcdonalds and rushed in for some supersize cups of water to get us home, which took about 30 mins for a 5 minute journey because of the constant radiator 'top ups' lol!

2) An indicator went, so we got an auto electrician out as we couldn't diagnose the problem. "it's an earth" he said, so as he fixed that - the next indicator went. He chased the problem round the car fixing the indicators as each one went when he fixed the previous one.

FIAT - FIX IT AGAIN TOMOROW.

Haha yeah they do live up to the fix it agan tommorow name they have. His first engine leaked oil and water, the second lasted for a few months and then the head cracked and mayonaised the block. So far the third engine has been good, apart from a few weeks ago we were blasting after this Focus ST and his exhuast broke loose and was gurgling hard, also his spark plug connectors broke at the same time and was running 3 cylinders for a few days, its just never ending problems, but they definetly are compromised with how fun the car is. Its hard to see how they are a good car unless you have owned one or know someone who has owned one that can sing its praises.

Lol, sounds about right. They are great cars! They wouldn't be the same if they didnt rust like nobody's business and break every five minutes. If it wasn't for my gf owning an uno, I wouldn't know how to replace a clutch slave cylinder! lol.

Their a rare iconic hot hatch that always turns heads. Wont get another car that is the same as that, r5gtt, swift gti, fiesta rs none of them can par with an Uno i dont think.
