Geez most of you are getting sunroofs then, I'm gonna have to read peoples spec a bit better when they post.
I remember when I bought the Peugeot, a lot of people tried to talk me out of the sunroof, because of the aircon. What on earth do you want that for? Well, if it's a nice day and not too hot, it's nice to get some fresh air. But even if it's not a nice day, it seems nicer with the extra light coming in from the roof. It doesn't even have to be daytime - many I time I've been on a long motorway drive on a clear night with a full moon, and enjoyed the moonlight.
Then again, the aircon hasn't worked for nearly three years. The dismal Scottish summers of 2007 and 2008 helped of course, but there have been sunny days and the sunroof has been worth its weight in £10 notes. If I hadn't had it, I'd probably have paid £600 to have the aircon fixed - in a car that's headed for the scrappage scheme.
Of course there's a down side. These days, if I leave the car outside in heavy rain for a while, I'm liable to find drops of water coming in round the light fitting and other places. I think it's coming from leaky seals on the sunroof. (Mind you, that hasn't happened since I cleared enough space in the garage to get the car in at night.) Still, it's not a huge problem, it's not soaking me, and the car is over 11 years old.
So yes, I'm up for another one.
Rolfe.
