There's something I started mucking about with here.

If you want a log-in, just ask.  If people are genuinely prepared to contribute then let's start putting stuff in.  I won't try and claim ownership of anything that goes in there, it's just something for people to have a play with at the moment and see if there is a body of people on here who are prepared to put stuff into a wiki, as that's what's needed.  You'll see the engines listed in there aren't limited to Golf motors - that doesn't make sense.

I've elevated it to VAG  engines, as I don't see anything of that ilk out there on the web.  If contributors step forward and create content then it'll grow legs to the point where it would be an idea to buy a domain for it to live in IMO.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Post up some links, I'll copy and paste the content into the wiki or just PM  DH for a wiki login and DIY

The idea is that it's DIY, but as Jay says - you've got to ask for a log-in as I've not managed to do much more than set it up and put some base data into it.  I'm a bit busy at the moment, so stuff like this is 'at the back of the queue'.

That's kinda the information, although I think we need to be focussed about what information goes in - is it a VW engines wiki, or a Golf GTI overall wiki?

I think it should be a GolfGTI Wiki with a VW Engine area as there are so many conversions going on, that way it will also get more coverage, usage and a greater community as a whole.
