as above. i have done some searching, and have found out its not a vac leak.....
some people have said it could be a faulty gauge, so jus need some clarification....

i have installed my boost gauge today, and just have a few questions.
on tickover, it sits at around 30.
i recently installed a new recirculator valve too, the car seems to drive the same, just the reading on the boost gauge worries me.
Is it a possibility of a faulty gauge, or is it possibly due to the needle not sitting at 0?
its an "Auto Gauge" Boost gauge from halfords.
any help would be appreciated.

i have one of these guages too and to be honest i think it just rests where i wants to on vac.. basically its not all that accurate..
though mine never vacs at 30.   -22 psi is probably the most it will go to..

Gauge on tick over should be at minus 20 then when you put your foot down you will create the vacuum then you will get your reading in plus

The question we need to ask is what does the gauge sit at without the engine turned on?

the gauge sits at around just above 10 on vac, it doesnt sit at 0.
would i see a more accurate reading if i sat the needle at 0?

YES

Take it back and swap it for one that works.
