« on: 02 July 2009, 14:17 »
does anyone know how to check for bent valves ? my top timing chain has jumped quite a few teeth and have marks on top of the pistons on one banks ,just faint marks ! when you turn the cams with a socket they go round freely then seem to spring round , is this normal? any one able to shed some light >?

If the pistons have marks then it is a good chance that the valves have hit, you may need to remove the head to inspect the damage however.

Your looking for bent valves

Wack a valve out of the head or post some pictures.
