Front Grill Emblem ?

Am i right in saying that there are 2 different emblems dependant on year ?


Or am i wrong and the shagwits have sent me the wrong emblem ?

ETKA is no help to me - it lists at least 3 different part numbers!

Well the thing is my cars a 53 plate but i've just had to buy a used front grill as the wife smashed the old one and thats off a 98 S reg
And they have sent me a fat one (1st picture)

pre 02 mk4's had fat ones and 02 onwards had the thin style ones...

thats what VW told me ... but i have a s reg and i had the thin style badge! before i changed to badgeless

i got bumped with that bought a new front grill and was going to swap some bits over and it was the wrong bloody type
