205/50's are the wrong size tyre, 205/45 or 215/40 is the correct size.

by putting the wrong size tyres on you have changed the gearing of the car.

Larger size will give you slower acceleration but higher top speed. Smaller size will give you the opposite.

Get the right size and you should go back to what you had before performance wise.

Weight of the wheels and tyres will also make a differance to your unsprung weight which will also have an effect on acceleration.

Sounds right to be. I has a VTS with 185/55/14. That used to wheel spin coming out of corners. In the wet, if you put your foot down in second, at 4000rpm it used to spin to. They was michelin tyres. I changed them for 195/45/15 With sh!t cheap budget tyres and it didn't spin so much and didn't feel so quick.
