If you're having to ask the question then just go for the DERV. It will be much cheaper to run and in real world terms no different in performance - the GTI doesnt even sound that great anyway, so you're not missing on that either!

Milltek and a Remap has soon sorted that out ;)

Totally transforms the car. In real world term mine would now piss all over a derv and does sound nice so . . .

i love my Gt 140
it looks just as nice with a bit of work, (changing the wheels as i dont want it to be a GTI rep, had them before bumper)
i get about 45-50 mpg when doing 60 on a duel carrigeway, and the torque is awesome as you can overtake with ease, probly not as good as the GTI but its still not a slow car.
i drove from south wales to bournemouth airport this year and did it with £40 in the tank.

but as said above, if its speed and noise ur after, deffinatly the GTI. economy and high mileage, the GT

Drove an Ibiza cupra diesel last night, 160bhp, loads of torque...

Oh my! Was so good.. but sounded pants (had a BMC CDA but thats it).

:undecided: Deffo prefer the look of the GTI over the GT's
