« on: 10 June 2009, 10:27 »
Hey guys, was wondering if some of you can recommend some new tyres for me.

Its about time i replaced my old/worn Pirelli P6000 on the front and wanted to know what tyres have the good reviews from you guys before i buy.

Looking at up to £70 a corner (Fitted)

I have a 91 J reg 16V, 185,55,15

All help would be appreciated.

Another vote for Toyo Proxies T1R's.

Only had mine just under 2 months but can definitely recommend them. I had P6000 before and can say these are an improvement. Not too expensive either.

Got mine off ebay from this guy:

Pretty cheap I thought. Arrived nice and quick plus if you live near Cheshire he does free fitting too!

Only once!??!

I fitted TR1s and they are grippy, but don't expect them to last very long.

Right then.

1) Bridgestone Potenza
2) Good Year Eagle F1
3) Toyo Proxy T1R

I am currently running the toyo's and i have to say i prefer the Eagles. I dont know if anyone else has noticed but the Toyo's seem a bit "floaty" tbh. They are good tyres but i very much lack the confidence I had with the F1's.
It is really only my opinion but i did find that the F1's bit their teeth into the corners well and with the present Toyo's i don't feel so confident.
A lot cheaper than the F1's at only £178 all round so not complaining, it's just that I think the F1's were so much better.

Suck it and see is my advice.
