Clutch Judder
« on: 04 June 2009, 20:51 »
Hi Guys,

I've looked at a few previous, similar sections and not sure if my problem is the same.

My clutch judders when I pull away in 1st, the revs are fine but this only starts to happen when the car has properly warmed up- starting from cold no problems. Bought the 1.8T about a month ago with 70000 on the clock and one very old previous owner- not sure if the clutch has just not been replaced and is worn or the fact it only happens when warmed up indicates some other problem?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Gareth

Are you giving it some when you pull away or does it do this if you pull away slowly?
80% of your posts are total tripe, as they are mostly replies to sh1te posts created by the morons that, unfortunately this forum attracts.

Yep sounds like the flywheel, so the clutch should also be done as well, maybe as much as £300-£400 @ an independent???

£300-400  It does it when i give it a lot of revs and if I pull away slowly, makes no difference. Is it the sort of thing that'll keep until the MOT or should I get it done straight away?

Thanks for all the advice guys

I put it in 5th at 30mph and floored it, nothing really happened, does this rule out the flywheel?

If the revs didn't rise, that just rules out clutch slip. ;)
